Who is revolver.ie?

revolver.ie is a web and digital media development venture set up by Joe Lakes in 2008. We work with a broad range of technologies, such as PHP 5, Java, MySQL, C++, XHTML/CSS, Javascript, Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3.0.

Joe is a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin. His qualifications are:
B.Sc Computer Science (1988)
M.Sc Multimedia Systems (2008)

He has worked as an IT professional in Dublin since 1985. Before completing his Masters in 2008, he worked for some of the largest companies in Ireland as a developer and project leader:

2002-2007: IT project leader and developer for Irish Progressive Services International (IPSI), a subsidiary of Irish Life and Permanent. IPSI supplies back office services to international investment companies.

Joe's role included project planning and deliverables management on a contract worth €16 million to IPSI.

1994-2002: IT consultant with the following clients:
Hibernian Life and Pensions: ASP programmer on the company's secure web service.
Bank of Ireland: Cobol programmer on Y2K project, and developer on Unix based payments system.
Intel: Installed and customised CA Masterpiece accounts payable package for Intel Europe.
Irish Life and Permanent: Mainframe operations and Ops support.
AIB: PL/1 developer on fees project.
Church and General/Insurance Corporation: Cobol developer on data migration project.

1989-1994: Project Leader and Cobol Programmer for Norwich Union Software Services/EDS Ireland.

1985-1989: Programmer and Computer Operator for Hibernian Insurance on IBM Mainframe systems using PL/1 and Adabas/Natural technologies.
